IHAHABOL ng Kamara de Representantes ang pag-apruba sa panukala na magpaparusa sa mga siyam-taonggulang pataas na nakagawa ng krimen.
Ayon kay House committee on justice chairman Doy Leachon, aaprubahan ng komite ang panukala sa susunod na linggo at agad itong ipadadala sa plenaryo para maaprubahan at maibigay sa Senado.
Sinabi ni Leachon na mayroong mga sindikato na gumagamit ng mga 15-taong gulang pababa dahil alam nila na hindi maparurusahan ang mga ito.
“It is but the time to pass this bill to protect our children from being used by ruthless and unscrupulous criminal syndicates to evade prosecution and punishment,” aniya.
Sinabi ng solon na isang priority measure ang panukala na ang intensyon ay mapangalagaan ang mga bata sa pang-aabuso ng mga kriminal.
“The current Congress gives utmost importance to legislative measures that ensure the safety of our future generation,” ani Leachon. “In line with administration’s efforts to curb violence and crime as important catalyst to economic growth, enhancement of family values and national development, the Committee on Justice considers the said bill a priority matter of legislation.”
