Trillanes naghain ng not guilty plea sa kasong libel

NAGPASOK ng not guilty plea si Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV kaugnay ng apat na counts na libel na inihain laban sa kanya ng presidential son at dating Davao City vice mayor Paolo Duterte at bayaw nitong si Manases Carpio sa Davao City Regional Trial Court (RTC).

Personal na humarap si Trillanes sa matapos siyang basahan ng sakdal sa Davao City sa apat na kaso ng libel.

“Apat itong kasong na-arraign ako kanina. Nag-plea ako ng not guilty,” sabi ni Trillanes.

Inihain nina Duterte at Carpio ang libel laban kay Trillanes matapos silang akusahan ng pangingikil ng pera mula sa Uber at iba pang kompanya.

Naghain si Duterte ng hiwalay na libel matapos na iugnay siya ni Trillanes sa umano’y smuggling ng P6.4 bilyong halaga ng shabu mula sa China noong Mayo noong isang taon.

Iginiit ni Trillanes na harassment lamang ang mga kaso laban sa kanya.

“Mga harassment cases lang ito talaga just to inconvenience me para ma-distract ako pero hindi ako madi-distract. I will continue with my mandate as a member of the opposition,” ayon kay Trillanes.

Noong Disyembre naglabas ang Davao RTC Branch 54 ng arrest warrant laban kay Trillanes.

Nagpiyansa si Trillanes ng P96,000 sa Pasay City RTC Branch 118.
