TUMAAS maging ang renta sa bahay noong Setyembre dahil ipinasa sa mga rumerenta ang Value Added Tax alinsunod sa Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion.
Ayon kay House committee on housing and urban development vice chair Rep. Michael Romero mismong datos na ang Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas ang nagsabi na nakadagdag ang renta sa bahay ng 0.40 porsyento sa kabuuang 6.7 porsyentong inflation noong Setyembre.
Sinabi ni Romero na hindi lahat ng rumerenta ng bahay ay dapat singilin ng VAT ng may-ari. Sa ilalim ng TRAIN ang mga mas mababa sa P15,000 ang upa kada buwan ay exempted sa VAT.
Ayon sa solon dapat ay magtrabaho ang Bureau of Internal Revenue at Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council upang masiguro na walang landlord na umaabuso at ginagamit ang VAT upang makapaningil ng mas malaki.
Maaari rin umanong makipag-ugnayan ang mga ahensyang ito sa mga lokal na pamahalaan upang mas maging epektibo ang pagbabantay.
“HUDCC and DILG can formulate implementing rules and regulations on the deputization and details on how LGUs can prevent, detect and take action against abusive lessors and landlords,” saad ng solon.
