Bible day bilang special non working holiday aprub nasa Kamara

IPINASA ng Kamara de Representantes sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ang panukala na ideklarang National Bible Day ang huling Lunes ng Enero at National Bible Week ang huling linggo ng Enero.

Hindi tinutulan ang pagpasa ng House bill 7544 na akda ni Sarangani Rep. Rogelio Pacquiao, kapatid ni Sen. Manny Pacquiao.

Kung magiging batas ang National Bible Day ay isang special working holiday.

“Its teachings form and transform peoples’ lives across all generations. It serves as the spiritual, moral, and social fiber, molding a socially responsible citizenry and a strong nation,” ani Pacquiao.

Ayon sa 2015 National Statistics Authority, 90 porsyento ng populasyon ng Pilipinas ay Kristiyano, kaya ang bansa ang pinakamalaking Christian nation sa Asia-Pacific at ikalimang pinakamalaki sa mundo.

Sinabi ni Pacquiao na ang Bibliya ang sentro ng pananampalatayang Kristiyano at ang kahalagahan nito ay kinilala nina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Corazon Aquino, at Fidel Ramos na naglabas ng Presidential Proclamations upang kilalanin ang kahalagahan ng Bibliya.
