Palace naalarma sa pagsuspinde ng Kamara sa deliberasyon sa P3.757T 2019 budget
NAGPAHAYAG ng pagkaalarma ang Palasyo sa desisyon ng Kamara na isuspinde ang deliberasyon sa pagdinig sa panukalang P3.757 trilyong 2019 budget sa harap naman ng pagtutol ng mga kongresista sa cash-based budgeting ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
Sa isang briefing, sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque na palaisipan kung bakit hinaharang ng super majority ng administrasyon ang panukalang budget.
“We are completely shocked at the resistance of the House, because we were confident that when there was a change of leadership, we would still deal with very close allies,” sabi ni Roque.
Idinagdag ni Roque na nasa kamay na ng Kongreso ang isyu, bagamat tiniyak na nakahanda ang Malacanang na ipatupad ang isang reenacted budget.
“The ball is in the hands of our allies in Congress. But we are not blinking; we are not scared of a reenacted budget. And the congressmen better ask themselves what will happen to pet projects, because under reenacted budget, it is Malacañang that will determine which budgets will be implemented. I don’t think they want that,” giit ni Roque.
