KINONDENA ng Bayan Muna ang pagkamatay ng isang tambay na hinuli noong Biyernes at natagpuang patay sa loob ng selda noong Lunes.
Ayon kay Rep. Isagani Zarate hindi katanggap-tanggap ang pagkamatay ni Genesis ‘Tisoy’ Argoncillo lalo at hinuli ito dahil nakaupo sa labas ng kanyang bahay at wala namang nilalabag na batas.
“This is really condemnable…. There is no reason to arrest him in the first place even if they use the Civil Code for public nuisance,” ani Zarate. “Tisoy’s actions hardly falls under any of these categories (Article 694) and he certainly does not deserve to be arrested or killed for sitting near his house.”
Sinabi naman ni Neri Colmenares, chairman ng Bayan Muna, ginagamit ang anti-tambay campaign para sikilin ang karapatan ng mga tao katulad ng nangyari noong martial law sa ilalim ng Marcos government.
“There is no law that allows them to arrest a ‘tambay’. Sa halip na mga tambay ang pinag-iinitan nila ay ayusin nila ang kawalan ng trabaho sa bansa para mawala ang mga tambay,” ani Colmenares.
Itinanggi naman ni Quezon City District Director Joselito Esquivel Jr., na namatay si Argoncillo dahil sa police brutality.
