‘Work from home’ lusot na sa Kamara

PASADO na sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ang panukala upang payagan na magtrabaho sa bahay o iba pang lugar ang mga pribadong empleyado sa halip na maubos ang oras nila sa trapik sa pagpasok sa opisina.

Sa botong 239-0 at walang abstention inaprubahan na ang panukalang Telecommuting Act (House bill 7402) na naglalayong magkaroon ng flexible work arrangement ang mga empleyado ng pribadong kompanya sa tulong modernong teknolohiya at mabawasan ang pagbiyahe ng empleyado na nakakaubos ng oras dahil sa trapik.

“An employer in the private sector may offer a telecommuting program to its employees on a voluntary basis and upon such terms and conditions as they may mutually agree upon,” saad ng panukala.

Ayon kay Quezon City Rep. Alfred Vargas, isa sa may akda ng panukala, umaabot sa 1,000 oras kada taon ang nasasayang sa mga empleyado dahil sa trapik.

“While finding a solution to the country’s traffic condition, there is also a need for the State to come up with alternative measures to alleviate the suffering of employees who are gravely affected by traffic,” ani Vargas.

Makabubuti rin umano ang telecommuting sa kalusugan ng mga empleyado. “It also leads to better health condition for employees as telecommuting lessens their exposure to pollution.”
