Bello nagbabala vs pagsibak sa mga empleyado sa Boracay
NAGBABALA si Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello sa mga establisimento sa Boracay na magtatanggal ng kanilang mga empleyado habang ipinatutupad ang anim na buwang pagsasara ng resort island simula Abril 26.
“(The)temporary suspension of business operations should not and must not result in the termination or separation of any employee,” sabi ni Bello.
Idinagdag ni Bello na maaaring ipatupad ng mga employer ang “no work, no pay, or require the employees to go on forced leave by utilizing their leave credits, if any.”
“Employees are expected to be recalled back to work upon the lifting of the temporary closure of Boracay Island,” giit ni Bello.

Nauna nang sinabi ni Bello na magbibigay ng ayuda ang DOLE sa mga maaapektuhang empleyado ng Boracay, kasama na ang emergency employment.
Idinagdag ni Bello na tinatayang 5,000 informal sector worker at mga miyembro ng indigenous community sa isla ang kukunin para sa paglilinis ng Boracay.
Sinabi pa ni Bello na tinatayang aabot sa P60 milyong ang inisyal na inilaan ng DOLE para sa emergency employment assistance.
