DU30 ipinag-utos ang pagkalas ng PH sa ICC

- March 14, 2018 - 03:39 PM

IPINAG-UTOS ni Pangulong Duterte na bawiin na ng Pilipinas ang pagiging bahagi ng State Party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court sa harap naman ng imbestigasyon laban sa kanya kaugnay ng mga nangyayaring extrajudicial killings (EJKs) sa bansa.

“There appears to be a concerted effort on the part of the UN special rapporteurs to paint me as a ruthless and hearthless violator of human rights who allegedly caused thousands of extra judicial killings,” sabi ni Duterte sa isang pahayag.

Idinagdag ni Duterte na wala hurisdiksyon ang ICC sa kanya.

“The International Criminal Court prematurely made a public pronouncement of a preliminary examination which effectively created the impression that I am to be charged in the Internationmal Criminal Court for serious crimes falling under its jurisdiction,” dagdag ni Duterte.

Sinabihan pa ni Duterte na ignorante ang mga nagsusulong na siya ay imbestigahan ng ICC.

“The Rome Statute to which the Philippines is a signatory and the law that I am supposed to be charged under is not effective and enforceable in the Philippines,” giit ni Duterte.

Sinabi naman ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque na inatasan na niya si Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea na iparating ang desisyon ni Duterte.

“I confirm that PRRD has directed the ES to give notice that we are withdrawing as a State Party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court,” sabi ni Roque.
