Chief Justice Sereno naka-indefinite leave simula Huwebes
SIMULA sa Huwebes ay naka-indefinite leave na si Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, ayon sa isang court insider.
Nagdesisyon ang Punong Mahistrado na mag-leave matapos ang isinagawang en banc session kung saan tinalakay ng mga justices ang mga alegasyong kinakaharap ni Sereno, at sa nalalapit na pagharap nito sa impeachment court.
Si Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio ang tatayong acting Chief Justice.
Mariin namang itinanggi ng kampo ni Sereno na indefinite leave ang gagawin nito.
Ayon sa kanyang tagapagsalita na si Atty. Josa Deinla, “wellness leave” ang gagawin ni Sereno at babalik din ito sa kanyang pwesto.
“Not indefinite. Duration is March 1 to 15. It has already been scheduled from March 15 to 23 but she is advancing it so she can prepare for her defense at the Senate,” ayon kay Deinla.
