Bukod sa Boracay, iba pang tourist spot bantayan

Hindi lamang umano ang Boracay ang dapat bantayan ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources kundi ang iba pang tourist destination na lumalabag sa environmental law.
Ayon kay Surigao del Norte Rep. Ace Barbers dapat ay hindi lamang ang kita ang tignan ng lokal na pamahalaan kundi ano ang makabubuti sa kanilang lugar.
“I’m sure this is not just happening in Boracay, but this may also be the case in other tourist destinations,” ani Barbers. “The clean up should start now for the sake of our people living in those areas.”
Sinabi ni Environment Sec. Roy Cimatu na nakaamba ang pagsasara sa 51 establisyemento sa Boracay dahil sa paglabag sa Clean Water Act od 2004 ng matuklasan na ang maraming tubig ay kanilang itinatapon sa dagat.
Pinadadaan umano ang maraming tubig sa drainage system na siyang dinadaluyan ng tubig ulan.
“These business establishments are earning big bucks for their operations,” ani Barbers. “In return, they should give back to the people by not endangering their safety and health.”
Ayon sa Aklan Provincial Tourism Office mula Enero hanggang Oktobre 2017, umabot sa 1.669 milyon ang turistang bumisita sa Boracay na gumastos ng P46.526 bilyon.
