Pagkilala sa ‘same-sex’ umusad na sa Kamara
SINIMULAN nang talakayin ng House committee on women and gender equality ang panukala na kilalanin ang mga karapatan ng same sex couple.
Ayon sa chairman ng komite na si Bagong Henerasyon Rep. Bernadette Herrera-Dy, malakas ang panawagan na isabatas ang Civil Partnership bill (House Bill 6595) na kikilala sa conjugal partnership, property, at family relations rights ng same sex couple.
“This bill addresses the clamor of the LGBT community for the equal protection of our laws. This is a gender-inclusive law Congress is working on that enables parties in civil partnerships to inherit from each other, name each other as insurance and social security beneficiaries, and allows them to adopt children,” ani Dy.
Inaasahan naman ang tuloy-tuloy na pag-usad ng panukala lalo at ang mga may-akda nito ay mga lider ng Kamara gaya nina House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, Deputy Speaker Raneo Abu, Deputy Speaker Frederick Abueg, at Deputy Speaker Gwendolyn Garcia.
