Estudyante nagpakamatay dahil walang pambayad sa iskul

 Umaasa si House committee on appropriations chairman at Davao City Rep. Karlo Nograles na hindi na masusundan ang pagpapakamatay ng iisang estudyante dahil wala itong pambayad sa eskuwelahan.     Ayon kay Nograles malayo ang mararating ng Free College tuition sa mga mahihirap na estudyante katulad ni Urmanita na na-depressed umano kaya nagpakamatay dahil walang pera na pambayad sa mga bayaran sa eskuwelahan.       “The heartbreaking case … was exactly the kind of occurrence that we wanted to avoid with the institutionalization of government’s free college tuition program,” ani Nograles.    Nagpakamatay ang third year college student ng Cagayan State University noong Enero 16. Noong 2015, isa pang estudyante ng paaralan ang nagpakamatay din dahil walang pambayad.     “Even more tragic, and frustrating to me as a legislator, was the fact that …was the second student from the University to commit suicide in the last three years,” ayon pa kay Nograles.     Naisabatas na ang Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act kaya wala ng babayaran ang mga estudyante sa mga paaralan na pinatatakbo ng gobyerno.     Ayon kay Nograles umaabot sa P40 bilyon ang inilaang budget para rito.
