Derek babalik daw ng ABS-CBN sa 2018; seryeng ‘Amo’ sa TV5 bulok na

DEREK RAMSAY

SECOND to the last day of our radio work ‘yon—habang naghihintay kami ng sundo by the gate of TV5 —nang papalabas ang isang female network employee from the marketing division.

Allergic to the road dust, nakatakip ang kanyang ilong habang kinukumusta namin kung kelan (na) ang telecast ng six-Sunday crime series na pinagbibidahan ni Derek Ramsay, ang Amo, which was supposed to air noon pang August.

Matagal na kasing in the can ang nasabing materyal under the directorial genius of Brillante “Dante” Mendoza, pero kung kailan ito eere —amidst the repeated plugs on TV5—is like wai-ting for snow to fall on a tropical country.

Dinig nami’y nasa marketing aspect daw ang pagkukulang, so ibig bang sabihin nito’y mahirap kunan ng advertisers ang Amo?

But the marketing girl na kasabay naming naghihintay rin ng kanyang homebound sundo disowned the problem, nasa programming daw kung maitutu-ring na diperensya ‘yon.

In fairness, it’s not what she seemed anxious about. Ang mas ikinaalarma raw ng TV5—and Joji Dingcong, Derek’s mana-ger—ay ang lumabas na balita that the hunk actor is jumping ship.

Babalik na raw uli si Derek sa ABS-CBN, this despite his recent pronouncement na sa 2018 pa mag-e-expire ang kanyang TV5 contract. At wala man itong re-gular work sa istasyon, he’s being taken care of.

Obviously, mauuna pang mapapanood ang filmfest entry ni Derek kesa sa Amo. And more obviously, the “last man standing” sa bakuran ng TV5 is still waiting.
