Justice ng SC, reporter ipinatawag para tumestigo vs Sereno

Ipatatawag ng House committee on justice ang isang mahistrado ng Korte Suprema at isang reporter sa pagdinig ng impeachment complaint ni Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Ayon kay Atty. Larry Gadon, ang naghain ng reklamo kay Sereno, nalaman niya sa mamamahayag na si Jomar Canlas ang pagbago sa temporary restraining order na ginawa ni Associate Justice Teresita De Castro noong 2013.
Sa pagdinig kahapon ay natanong si Gadon kung papaano niya nalaman ang umano’y pagbago ni Sereno sa isinulat na desisyon ni de Castro.
“I first read it in newspaper then I asked the reporter himself to explain to me the incident, and then I inquired also with some employees at the Supreme Court that I learned about it,” ani Gadon.
Sa pagtatanong ni Oriental Mindoro Rep. Doy Leachon ay sinabi ni Gadon na nabigo siyang personal na makausap si de Castro kaugnay nito.
“There must be some problem here,” ani Leachon. “Baka sabihin ng taumbayan, bakit hindi dinismiss? Serious ang allegations, at based sa allegations there must be more or less sufficient grounds, but in order for this to stand for trial, kailangan namin ma-substantiate ang claim.”
Sa puntong ito ay nagmosyon si Leachon na ipatawag si de Castro at Canlas para personal na makapagbigay ng testimonya sa komite.
