McCoy, Ronwaldo, Dulce, Bayang, Bembol, Irma maglalaban-laban sa bonggang 2nd ToFarm Filmfest

MAS pinabongga ngayong taon ang 2nd TOFARM Film Festival sa pangunguna pa rin ng producer nitong si Dr. Milagros How, President ng Universal Harvester, Inc., at ng award-winning director na si Maryo J delos Reyes, bilang overall festival director.

Makabuluhan ang adboksiya nina Dr. How at direk Maryo sa taunang filmfest na ito na naka-focus nga sa farming and agriculture industries. Ang TOFARM ay acronym ng The Outstanding Farmer at ngayong taon nga ay mas dumami pa ang nag-submit ng mga entries dahil napakaganda nga ng naging pagtanggap ng mga Pinoy moviegoers sa unang TOFARM.

This year, “Planting the Seeds of Change” ang tema ng TOFARM filmfest na magsisimula sa July 12 hanggang July 18 at mapapanood sa mas marami ng sinehan, kabilang na ang SM Megamall, SM Manila, Greenbelt 1, Robinsons Galleria at Gateway Cinemas. Katuwang din ngayon ng TOFARM ang Solar Pictures ni Mr. Wilson Tieng.

Ayon kay direk Maryo, may 180 entries ang natanggap nila at anim lang ang maswerteng napili.
Sabi naman ni Dr. How, bukod sa farming and agriculture, pati fishing at environment ay ginamit na ring tema ng ilang film entries para sa taong ito.

Narito ang kumpletong listahan ng anim na official entries.

“Instalado” ni Jason Paul Laxamana na pagbibidahan nina McCoy de Leon, Junjun Quintana, Francis Magundayao, Archi Adamos, Joel Saracho, Barbara Miguel, Liya Sarmiento, Cecile Yumul, Bea Vega at Kiko Matos. Ito’y mula rin sa Kamaru at Petix Productions, Batang Ina Productions at Kapampangan Cinema Movement.

“Baklad” ni Topel Lee starring Ronwaldo Martin, Elora Españo, Rafa Siguion Reyna, with Hector Macaso, Alan Forte, BJ Go, John Vincent Servilla, Royce Cabrera, Raul Morit, DJ Jhaiho, Dess Versoza at Rowena Concepcion. Katuwang din dito ang Mighty Beanz Multimedia Production at isinulat ni Sigfried Barros-Sanchez.

“High Tide” written and directed by Tara Illenberger kung saan bibida naman sina Arthur Solinap, Sunshine Teodoro, Dalin Sarmiento, Forrest Kyle Buscato, Christine Mary Demaisip at Reina Christal Shin.

“What Home Feels Like” ni Joseph Abello na pagbibidahan nina Bembol Roco at Irma Adlawan, with Biboy Ramirez, Rex Lantano, Aaron Rivera, Elijah Filamor, and introducing Bianca Li-binting, sa produksyon ng B17 Films, in association with Crowning Glory Movie Equipment Services, Mariners’ Colleges System Bikol, Outpost Visual Frontier, Black Maria Pictures.

“Sinandomeng” written and directed by Byron Bryant with Sue Prado, Julio Diaz, Lou Veloso, Lui Quiambao, Star Orjaliza, Gab Pangilinan, Jayvhot Galang and introducing Czel Santiago and Althea Oredina, with Anjo Padilla, Chesko Rodriguez, Paulo Cabañero, Keiko Jastillana and CJ Estay.

“Kamunggai (Malunggay) ni Victor Acedillo, Jr. na pagbibidahan nina Dulce, Bayang Barrios, Skyzx Labastilla, Luis Banaag III at Kent Raymond Basa.

Ang mga binigyan ng karapatang pumili ng magi-ging entries para sa 2nd TOFARM filmfest ay sina direk Jun Robles Lana, Michiko Yamamoto at Raquel Villa-vicencio.

Para sa magiging opening film this year ng TOFARM, ipalalabas muli ang classic movie nina Nora Aunor at Christopher de Leon na “Banaue” na idinirek ng National Artist for Film na si Gerry de Leon. Mapapanood ito sa July 11 sa Novotel Hotel, Araneta Center, Cubao.

Matapos ito, pagkakalooban naman ng Plaque of Recognitions ang mga celebrities na may mga sarili na ring farm ngayon, tulad nina Christopher de Leon, Tirso Cruz III, Gary Estrada, Niño Muhlach, Isabel Rivas, Eagle Riggs at Lorna Tolentino.

Ibinalita rin ni Dr. How na ang dalawa sa 1st TOFARM filmfest na “Paglipay” at “Pauwi Na” ay nagkamit ng multiple nominations para sa 40th Gawad Urian Awards na gaganapin sa July 20.
