2018 Asian Games, sukatan ni Diaz para sa 2020 Olympics

AMINADO si 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympic Games silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz na kanyang magiging sukatan ang 2018 Asian Games na gaganapin sa Indonesia sa kanyang magiging tsansa sa 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Ito ang sinabi mismo ni Diaz, ang tinanghal na 2016 PSA Athlete of the Year, sa kanyang pagdalo sa Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) weekly forum kahapon sa Golden Phoenix Hotel sa Pasay City.
Puntirya ni Diaz na mabigyan ang Pilipinas ng kauna-unahan nitong gintong medalya sa Olympics.

“Right now po, kaya ko pa rin ang na-lift ko sa Rio Olympics pero medyo kailangan ko pa rin po mag-trim ng body weight saka conditioning pa po ulit para makabalik sa competitive form kop o,” sabi ni Diaz.
Idinagdag ni Diaz na nakatutok na siya sa pagsabak sa World Weightlifting Championships na gaganapin sa Anaheim, California bagaman nanghinayang siya matapos na alisin ang women’s weightlifting sa 2017 Southeast Asian Games sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“Move on na po ako sa World Championships sa November sa Anaheim,” sabi ni Diaz, na balik sa kanyang pag-aaral matapos ang mahabang panahon na natutok sa pagsasanay at paghahanda sa Olympics.
“Sana manalo ako laban sa Taipei (Olympic gold-medal winner Hsu Shu-Ching) at China (former world champion Li Yajun) sa Asian Games next year kasi nandoon talaga ang mga pinakamalalakas. Kapag nanalo ako sa Asian Games, malaki na ang tsansa kona manalo ng ginto sa 2020 Tokyo Olympics.”
