Palasyo:Walang rason para isuspinde ni Duterte ang writ of habeas corpus

ITINANGGI ng Palasyo na nakatakdang isuspinde ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang write of habeas corpus sa bansa matapos naman ang mga pangamba.

“President Duterte finds no compelling reason to suspend the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus at this point. As a strong advocate of the rule of law, he is fully aware of the limits of presidential powers,” sabi ni Communications Secretary Martin Andanar.
Ito’y sa harap ng mga babala na gagamitin ng gobyerno ang problema kaugnay ng teroristang Maute group at ang pagkakadiskubre ng improvised explosive device (IED) malapit sa US Embassy.
“The commander-in-chief trusts the capability and competence of Philippine National Police (PNP) head General Ronald dela Rosa to maintain law and order and to serve and protect the citizenry,” ayon kay Andanar.
Idinagdag ni Andanar na malaki ang tiwala ni Duterte kay dela Rosa.
” He knows that General de la Rosa is up to the job and can handle any untoward incident and the over-all situation very well. Given this, President Duterte believes any intervention at his level is unnecessary,” dagdag ni Duterte.
