Same sex marriage haharangin ng partylist solons

“Family is a basic institution. If you will pursue same-sex marriage, how can you call it a family? Because marriage is solely for a man and a woman,” ani Velarde, anak ni El Shaddai leader Bro. Mike Velarde. “But, if you are looking for legal unity,  such idea can be looked into.” “I stand ‘No’ on the issue because basically you can change the Constitution, but you can’t change the law of nature. I stand on the basis that the divine law cannot be violated and that the essence and sanctity of marriage should be protected,” ani Bertiz. “I don’t think a law for same sex marriage is timely. We have to prioritize bills that will uplift the lives of the poor or ease their burden. An example is the bill I proposed exempting from income tax those earning P30,000 monthly and below, and lower the income tax brackets even for the middle class,” ani Tiangco. “A practical question to be asked of a member of the LGBT sector is which would be of more help to them, exemption of income tax or same sex marriage?”
