Alvarez tiniyak na hindi magdedeklara ng martial law si Duterte
SINABI ni Speaker Pantaleon “Bebot” Alvarez na wala sa pag-uugali ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na magdeklara ng martial law sa bansa.
Nagbigay ng komento si Alvarez matapos ang panukala ni Sen. Richard Godon na isuspinde ang habeas corpus kung saan papayagan ang mga pulis na magsagawa ng warrantless arrest para sa kampanya ng gobyerno kontra terorismo at iligal na droga.
“Kailangan ko muna pag-aralan yung proposal… Huwag natin isipin ang martial law. Hindi mangyayari ‘yan. It will never happen under the Duterte administration,” dagdag ni Alvarez, na kilalang kaalyado at matalik na kaibigan ni Duterte.
