Transgender solon di na magga-gown sa SONA
NANGHIHINAYANG ang unang transgender congresswoman sa Kamara de Representantes dahil hindi siya makararampa nang naka-gown sa SONA ni Pangulong Duterte ngayong araw.
Wala tuloy magagawa si Bataan Rep. Geraldine Roman kundi magsuot ng
business attire na itinakda ng Pangulo.
“Mayroong malaking panghihinayang because I understand that many of my brothers and sisters in the LGBT community are actually talented designers who want to showcase their talent and of course highlight our national costume which is the Filipiniana costume,” ani Roman.
Sinabi niya na mayroong inihandang damit ang kanyang mga kaibigan para sa kanya subalit hindi niya ito isusuot sa SONA.
“Marami sa kanila ang nagbigay sa akin ng damit, terno na puwede kong suotin sa Kongreso pero hindi matutuloy, ganyan talaga ang buhay,” dagdag pa ng lady solon. “Mayroong nagbigay sa akin ng pink na terno at mayroong nagbigay sa akin ng aquamarine. Simple lang naman ang cut, classic, nothing extravagant or ostentatious. But I am going to wear business suit on Monday which I bought in the United States when I travelled with my brother last month. How I wish I could wear something Filipino, but you know I am tall so the sizes I availed are American sizes.” — Leifbilly Begas
