PNP hinihintay ang resulta ng toxicology test kaugnay ng mga namatay sa concert sa Pasay

SINABI ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na hinihintay pa nito ang resulta ng toxicology test sa limang mga nasawi sa isang concert sa Pasay City.
“The PNP always bases its pronouncements on facts… It’s better to wait for the toxicology results before we assume something on the situation,” sabi ni Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor sa isang press conference sa Camp Crame.
Ito’y sa harap naman ng ulat na drug ingestion at overdose ang naging sanhi ng pagpagkamatay ng limang biktima na dumalo sa Close Up Forever Summer Concert sa SM Mall of Asia grounds noong Sabado ng gabi.
Kabilang sa mga nasawi ay sina Ariel Leal, 22; Lance Garcia, 36; Bianca Fontejon, 18; Ken Migawa, 18, at ang Amerikanong si Eric Anthony Miller, 33.
Nadiskubre ng mga otoridad na namatay sina Garcia at Fontejon mula sa massive heart attack.
Tikom din ang bibig ng hepe ng Pasay City police kaugnay ng insidente.
“We’re still waiting for the result of the toxicology tests. Our investigation is ongoing,” sabi ni Senior Supt. Joel Doria.
Ayaw ding kumpirmahin ni Mayor na ibinenta ang mga “party drugs” sa concert na dinaluhan ng 14,000 na katao.
“It would be unfair to the event organizer if we will accuse them of doing that. Until we’ve found out the toxicology result and we know who’s liable, we can’t associate the use of drugs in the incident,” dag dag ni Mayor.
Inamin ng PNP na tali ang kanilang kamay dahil napagkasunduan ng mga nag-organisa at Pasay Police na pagbibigay lamang ang mga pulis ng seguridad sa labas ng concert.
“In most events, the police’s role is merely on the peace and order aspect only. Kung may nanggulo, doon kami reresponde,” ayon pa kay Mayor.

Sinabi naman ni Chief Insp. Rolando Baula, head ng Pasay Police Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch (SIDMB) na nagsumite ang pamilya ni Leal ng waiver kung saan hiniling sa pulisya na wag nang magsagawa ng imbestigasyon kaugnay ng pagkapamatay ng biktima.
“The question is, bakit ayaw? If they want to get to the bottom of the incident, why don’t they let us investigate? But what we can do now is to check the circumstances of the death of other victims,” sabi ni Mayor.
Kumpiyansa naman si Baula na mailalabas ang resulta ng toxicology ngayong linggo.
