PH boxers tuloy pa rin ang training sa US

TULOY pa rin sa Amerika ang 20-kataong delegasyon ng Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines (ABAP) kahit na hindi sang-ayon dito ang Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) at Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

Plano ng pamunuan ng ABAP na isailalim sa tatlong linggong pagsasanay ang 14 pambansang boksingero, limang national coaches at isang opisyal ng ABAP bilang paghahanda sa malalaking torneong sasalihan nito kabilang ang qualifying tournament para sa 2016 Rio Olympics na gaganapin sa China umpisa Marso 23.

Sa pananaw naman ng POC at PSC, masyadong maigsi na ang panahon para magsanay ang mga boxers sa Amerika. “Mahirap makabawi sa jet lag,” sabi ni PSC Chairman Richie Garcia. “Kung ako nga galing doon ay tatlong araw bago makabawi sa jet lag, so our concern is to the boxer na pagdating nila doon ay agad na sasabak sa laban.”
