22 sports paglalabanan sa Philippine National Games Finals

AABOT sa kabuuang 22 mula sa orihinal na 32 sports ang paglalabanan sa isasagawang 2015 Philippine National Games (PNG) Championships sa Lingayen, Pangasinan sa Marso 7-11.

Sinabi ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) National Games Project Director Atty. Ma. Fe “Jay” Alano at PNG Secretariat chief Annie Ruiz na 10 sports ang hindi na isasagawa sa pinakahuling yugto ng kompetisyon na hangad makadiskubre ng mga bagong atleta na posibleng mapabilang sa pambansang koponan.

“They (NSAs) had their own reasons each kung bakit hindi sila makakapagsagawa ng kanilang events,” sabi ni Alano.

Ang torneo ay pinagtutuunan din ng PSC bilang pinakasukatan nito sa mga pambansang atleta na nagnanais na mag-qualify sa 2016 Summer Olympic Games sa Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at maging sa 2017 Southeast Asian Games sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at 2018 Asian Games sa Jakarta, Indonesia.

Tanging naiwan para isagawa ang kanilang mga laro ay ang archery, arnis, athletics, badminton, billiards, boxing, chess, karatedo, swimming, taekwondo, cycling, dancesports, futsal, judo, lawn tennis, muaythai, pencak silat, sepak takraw, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting at wrestling.

Hindi na isasagawa ang dragonboat (no 2015 performance), fencing (Luzon only), football (Luzon only), softball (4 teams only), underwater hockey (Luzon only), triathlon (no 2015 participation), baseball (Chairman’s Cup), rugby football (Luzon only) at beach volleyball (no 2015 participation).
