ISIS nagre-recruit ng mga menor-de-edad— Cotabato City mayor

NAGPAHAYAG ng pagkaalarma ang mayor ng Cotabato City sa pagre-recruit ng mga menor-de-edad at mga out-of-school youth para sumali sa Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Sa isang panayam ng Radyo Inquirer, sinabi ni Cotobato City Mayor Japal Guiani Jr. na tinatayang 30 estudyante mula sa lungsod, na may edad mula 16 hanggang 20, ang nakumbinsi nang sumali sa extremist group.

Aniya, nagmula ang mga bagong miyembro ng ISIS mula sa pribado at pampublikong paaralan sa lungsod.

“Totoo po ito. Kaya nalaman itong activities nila kasi nagkaroon ng engkwentro at may mga estudyante at out-of-school youth na nanggaling ng Cotabato na na-recruit sa grupong ‘yan. I think there are more than 30 na na-recruit,” sabi ni Guiani.

Tinukoy ni Guiani ang nangyaring engkuwentro noong Nobyembre 26 sa Barangay Butril, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat.

Tinatayang walong katao ang napatay, kabilang na ang isang pinaghihinalaang Indonesian national. Ayon sa gobyerno, ang grupo ay pinamumunuan nina Ansar Al Khalifa at Mohd Jaafar Maguid.
Idinagdag ni Guiani na pinangakuan ang mga bagong recruit ng P20,000 para sumali rito.
“Nire-recruit sila with the promise ng pera, mga P20,000 ata or more,” ayon pa kay Guiani.
Nanawagan din ni Guiani sa mga magulang na imonitor ang mga akbibidad ng kanilang mga anak.
“Nanawagan kami sa mga magulang and school authorities na i-monitor nila yung activities ng mga estudyante,” aniya.
