500 monthly allowance ng senior citizen sa 2016
Gagastos ng P7.51 bilyon ang gobyerno sa 2016 para sa P500 buwanang allowance ng 1.2 milyong senior citizen.
“The Expanded Senior Citizens Law provides for the P500 monthly stipend of poverty-stricken senior citizens, especially those who are frail, sickly or do not have a permanent or regular source of income or financial support,” ani LPGMA Rep. Arnel Ty.
Mas mataas ang pondo sa susunod na taon ng P1.55 bilyon na inilaan ngayon sa ilalim ng Social Pension Program for Indigent Senior Citizens.
Bukod sa allowance ay may 20 porsyentong discount na ibinibigay sa mga senior citizens sa mga bilihin at serbisyo.
“While small, the allowance nontheless provides a lifeline to extremely poor senior citizens,” ani Ty.
Ang mga nakatatanggap ay ang mga hindi miyembro ng Social Security System at Government Service Insurance System.
