Kamara pasok sa sira ng Montero

Naghain ng panukala si Bayan Muna Rep. Neri Colmenares upang paimbestigahan sa Kongreso ang problema ng mga Mitsubishi Montero na nagresulta sa mga aksidente.
Inihain ni Colmenares ang House Resolution 2531 upang matukoy kung kailangan umanong ipa-recall ng Department of Trade and Industry ang mga naibentang Montero.
“[T]he unregulated and uninspected motor vehicle production and trade in the country illustrates the need to review the 1992 Consumer Act; to not only make it more comprehensibly akin to the prevailing industry practices, but as well comprehensibly institute more stringent measures that protect our consumers and promote public safety,” ani Colmenares.
Mayroon ding kaparehong resolusyon si Ilocos Norte Rep. Rudy Farinas na kanyang inihain matapos araruhin ng Montero ang kanyang anak na si Ilocos Norte Provincial Board member Ria Fariñas habang naglalakad ito sa isang libing noong Setyembre 13, 2014.
“It is imperative to determine whether there is a need to enhance, modify and/or amend existing laws or enact legislation to address public safety issues, as well as to protect and safeguard consumer rights and welfare,” ani Fariñas.
