NAKAKATUWA ang kaibigan at anak-anakan nating si Joed Serrano – he really has a perfect eye for a star. Yes, he’s into handling artists now, aside from mastering concert production, he now ventures into talent management and first to land in his wings is the very beautiful and ta-lented Gabrielle Concepcion.

She is the lovely daughter of former couple Gabby Concepcion and Ms. Grace Ibuna.

“Three years old pa lang ako nang ma-realize kong nakakakanta pala ako and since then I’ve developed this passion for music. I am very blessed to have met Tito Joed who pushed me to go professional. I am very happy too that Warner Music took me in. I just recently signed up with them.

“Of course, I have the blessings of my parents. I may not see Papa often (Gabby) but we are always in touch. He is busy taping for a serye in GMA 7 kasi,” ani Garie, Gabrielle’s nickname.

Nu’ng isang araw ay nag-guest ang mag-inang Gabrielle and Grace sa “Mismo” program namin sa DZMM. They’re so much fun in our show. Grabe kasi si Grace – nakakatuwa at bratatat na interviewee.

Ang talino at ang saya, not to mention the beauty that they brought in to the show. Sayang nga at hindi nakahabol si Joed dahil he was trapped sa heavy traffic that night. Kung nandoon si Joed malamang na mas riot ang show namin.

But mind you, hindi nagtapos ang chikahan namin sa “Mismo” the other night, tumuloy kami sa Zirkoh Comedy Bar sa Tomas Morato para dalawin si Allan K who had a very special performance – a fundraising show for Marlon Limpin, one of Zirkoh’s managers na nakaratay ngayon sa isang hospital due to failure of pancreas.

During Gladys Guevarra’s portion, tinawag niya sa stage si Gabrielle to render a song and whew!

Magaling talagang kumanta ang bata. She wowed the audience with two spot numbers. Rightafter, nagdagsaan ang ilang customers sa area namin para magpa-picture with her. Star ang bata.

“Teka lang naman, nasa iyo na ang lahat – ganda, sexiness and talent. Wala ka nang itinira sa akin. Kaya this time, balik na lang ako sa pagka-boldstar,” biro ni Gladys after Gabrielle’s performance.

Talagang pinagtripan namin ni Grace ang beautiful daughter niya – walang patid namin siyang tinukso kay Sam Milby na crush pala ni bagets.

“Tinanong kasi ako sa presscon kung sino sa tingin ko ang cute and yes, I find Sam cute. I’ve guested one time sa isang mall show niya and from then on, wala lang, minsan nagba-viber kami. Nothing serious. We’re friends,” ani Gabrielle na super-bait na bata.

She is also very close to her older sister KC Concepcion. She loves KC very much. They are always in touch. And mind you, magkaboses sila ni KC though Gabrielle sings better.

“Hindi naman. Ate sings well too. Gusto kong sundan ang yapak niya, ang pag-aartista niya though I want to develop my own identity one day. Kasi nga everytime my name is mentioned, palagi na lang sinasabing – ang anak ni Gabby or ang kapatid ni KC.

“Not that I don’t like it, in fact, I am very proud to have them in my blood and to be referred as such but as an artist, iba pa rin yung may sarili kang identity kasi nga, I have a little talent to show,” she said.

Yes, Gabrielle is guesting sa Dec. 18 concert ng baby nating si Michael Pangilinan sa Music Museum.

Naku, panoorin niyo ang batang ito by then at tiyak na mapapanganga kayo sa husay at tindi ng presence sa stage. Ibang klase – she’s got what it takes to be a big star.

Basta kami, nandito lang kami for you Gabrielle. You’ll always be a baby to us. And please take care of your mom (Ms. Grace Ibuna) always dahil she has so much love in her heart for all of you – you and your siblings. And of course, wish you luck sa showbiz career mo. Mwah!
