THE Movie and Television Review and Classification Board congratulates Ms. Jaclyn Jose for winning the Best Actress award at the 65th Cannes Film Festival. Your achievement is a salute to Filipino talent, fortitude and hard work.

MTRCB also extends its congratulations to all the creative and outstanding men and women behind the film Ma’ Rosa, especially director Brillante Mendoza.

Nu’ng lumabas ang balitang nanalo si Jaclyn sa Cannes, nanayo ang mga balahibo ko. Kasi nga, first time na mag-win tayo for one of the most coveted awards na sobrang mailap – ang Best Actress ng Cannes International Film Festival. Minsan na tayong nanalo for Best Director courtesy of Brillante Mendoza, ngayon naman ay Best Actress for Jaclyn’s sterling performance sa “Ma’Rosa.”

Walang ipinagkaiba iyan nu’ng manalo ang mahal nating Superstar na si Nora Aunor sa Cairo International Filmfest ng Best Actress for the movie “Flor Contemplacion Story” years back – same level ng Cannes iyon though mas acknowledged lang at mas popular ang Cannes.
Just want to conclude na magaling na mga artista talaga ang mga Pinoy. Nakaka-proud, di ba? Kungsabagay, Jaclyn has always been one of the best actresses that we have. No doubt.

Congrats, Jaclyn. This is another historical honor you brought for the country. Galing mo, Ining! Mwah!
