Naglabas ng babala kahapon ang environmental group na EcoWaste Coalition kaugnay ng mga hindi rehistradong insecticide mula sa China na ibinebenta sa bansa.
Ayon sa EcoWaste mayroon silang natukoy na 14 na insecticide na nagtataglay ng mapanganib na cypermethrin at hindi dumaan ang mga ito sa pagsusuri ng Food and Drugs Administration.
“The unchecked sale of aerosol insecticides with cypermethrin as an active ingredient by retailers in public markets, sidewalks and budget shopping malls has become a ubiquitous sight as if these products are legal and safe,” ani Thony Dizon, coordinator ng EcoWaste.
Sa ipinalabas na Advisory ng FDA sinabi nito na “cypermethrin is a broad spectrum insecticide which kills target and non-target beneficial insects as well as susceptible animals, especially aquatic organisms.”
Kabilang sa mga produktong tinutukoy ng EcoWaste ay ang Baolilai, Big Bie Pai, at Tianshi insect spray na ipinagbawal ng ibenta ng FDA noong Enero.
Nakabili naman ang EcoWaste ng mga insect spray na hindi dumaan sa pagsusuri. Ang mga ito ay ang Angel Insecticide Aerosol, Angel Insecticide Aerosol, Bidia Aerosol Insecticide, Boclliai Aerosol Insecticide, General Toad Aerosol Insecticide, Jin Ma Insect Killer (Jasmine), Jin Ma Insect Killer (Sunflower), Kingever Aerosol Insecticide, Kingever Insect Killer, Palaka Insecticide Aerosol, Sargent Mosquito, Flying Insects and Small Crawling Insects Killer, Power Boss Aerosol Insecticide, Tang Shi Insect Killer at Txaksi Insect Killer.
