“Basically residency is not established by a physical presence,” ani Zamora na isang bar topnotcher. “The moment you have residency through living in the Philippines which means domicile, you don’t lose it simply because you went to the States as in the case of Senator Poe. So don’t even lose it even if you stay for an extended number of years.” “UNA’s claim that Sen. Poe is not qualified leaves a bad taste as it came after she rejected its invitation to be the running mate of VP Binay and after she signed the Senate Blue Ribbon subcommittee report recommending plunder charges against Binay and 8 others,” ani Evardone. “Besides it is the Comelec, certainly not UNA, that is the sole arbiter on who is qualified to run for public office.”Disclaimer: The comments uploaded on this site do not necessarily represent or reflect the views of management and owner of Bandera.
