Binay tinabla ng Court of Appeals; P600 milyong assets frozen

frozen-assets-1-0513PINABORAN ng Court of Appeals (CA) ang petisyon ng Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) na i- freeze ang bank accounts ni Vice President Jejomar Binay na nagkakahalaga ng P600 milyon.

Sa 33-pahinang Order na pinirmahan nitong Mayo 11 ay may kaugnayan sa bank accounts ng anak ng pangalawang pangulo na si Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay Jr., kanyang misis na si  Elenita at ang mga sinasabing dummies ng pamilya na sina  Gerardo Limlingan, Eduviges Baloloy, Antonio Tiu, Lily Hernandez Crystal, Carmelita Palo Galvan, Francisco Balaguer Baloloy, Bernadette Cezar Portollano, Mitzi Sedillo, Margeurite Lichnock, Melissa Gay Castañeda Limlingan, Victor Limlingan, James Lee Tiu, Pee Feng Lee, Ann Lorraine Buencamino Tiu, Frederick Dueñas Baloloy, Mario Alejo Oreta, Jose Orillaza, Daniel Subido, Man Bun Chong, Joy Mercado t Omni General Services Inc.

Ang order para i-freeze ang mga sinasabing assets ng pamilya Binay ay may kaugnayan sa ginagawang imbestigasyon ng Office of the Ombudsman kaugnay sa mga diumano’y iregularidad sa pagpapatayo ng Makati City Hall Building II, na sinasabing overpriced ng P1.3 bilyon, at ng Makati Science High School.

“The ex parte petition for the issuance of a frozen order is granted. A freeze order is hereby issued valid and effective immediately for a period of six months,”  ayon sa order ng CA First Division.

Ayon sa korte, lahat ng account ninBinay, kabilang ang insurance at securities companies ay kailangang i-freeze ““wherever they may be found.”

Nag-ugat ang petisyon ng AMLC mula sa reklamong inihain nina Nicolas Enciso VI at Renato Bondal—mga dating barangay chairman sa  Makati– sa tanggapn ng Ombudsman.
