Mahigit 3,000 pasahero sa Bicol stranded dahil kay Dodong

UMABOT na sa mahigit 3,000 pasahero ang stranded sa mga pantalan matapos ipagbawal ng Philippine Coast Guard ang paglalayag sa Sorsogon, Albay at Masbate matapos itaas ng weather bureau ang public storm warning signal number 1 sa mga naturang lugar sa harap ng patuloy na pananalasa ng bagyong Dodong.
Sinabi ni Rachelle Miranda, public information officer Office of Civil Defense (OCD)-Bicol na sa Sorsogon pa lamang umabot na sa 2,262 pasahero ang stranded, 859 naman sa Albay at 14 sa Masbate.
Batay sa pinakahuling ulat ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) na naispatan si Dodong 480 kilometro silangan hilagang silangan ng Borongan, Eastern Samar. Ito ay may lakas na 150 kilometer per hour (kph) malapit sa gitna at pagbugso na aabot sa 185 kph at kumikilos sa kanluran hilagang kanluran sa bilis na 17 kph.
Itinaas na ang signal No. 1 sa mga probinsiya sa Bicol kasama ang Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay at Sorsogon, Polillo Island sa Quezon at Northern Samar.
