AND so it has come to pass that the 2nd Philippine Ching Yuen Athletic Association (PCYAA) season is over.
While basketball, featuring four divisions (Developmental for boys age 11 and under, Aspirants for boys age 13 and under, Juniors for boys’ high school and Ladies for girls’ high school) was the centerpiece, PCYAA Season 2 also came up with table tennis competitions in four levels.
Saint Peter the Apostle School, Saint Jude Catholic School and Pace Academy were big winners in the table tennis events held at the Saint Jude Catholic School campus.
The SPAS Peterians actually were double champions, having captured the titles in the Elementary Boys Division (players age 13 and under) and High School Boys Division (players age 18 and under).
The SJCS Judenites grabbed the crown in the Elementary Girls Division and the Pace Academy Pacers topped the High School Girls Division.
The members of the top three teams in each of the four divisions are as follows: Elementary Boys Division: Champion – Saint Peter the Apostle School (Federico Chua, Curt Justin Lee and Charles Jasper Lim); 1st Runner-up – Saint Jude Catholic School (Jeremy Ace Ng, Denis Laurence Chua, Aaron Jeswin See, Kent Timothy Ang and Bryce Jeswin See); and 2nd Runner-up – Grace Christian College (Sean Ian Uy, Johnlex Stephen Wong, Edrick Aaron Chan and Kirk Cameron Salvador).
Elementary Girls Division: Champion – Saint Jude Catholic School (Erin Daphne Tiu, Justine Carreon, Hannah Cheng and Erika Jaslin See); 1st Runner-up – Uno High School (Eevee Liao, Allee Liao, Zoiee Liao and Shamile Bati); and 2nd Runner-up – Philippine Cultural College (Karl Luis Soon, Kyle Adrian Chen and Mitchell Myron Tiu).
High School Boys Division: Champion – Saint Peter the Apostle School (Federico Chua, Jansen Lao, Jimwel Lao, Charles Joshua Lim, Charles Justin Lim and Charles Jasper Lim); 1st Runner-up – Jubilee Christian Academy (Tristan Juansing, Matthew Lui, Edric Carlos, John Peter Chua, Jerson Tecson and Zachary Villacruz); and 2nd Runner-up – Saint Jude Catholic School (Riley Lim, Jeremy Ng, Denis Chua, Aaron See, Ivander Tan and Kent Ang).
High School Girls Division: Champion – Pace Academy (Denice Cai, Jessica Zapata, Lorene Uy, Sharrie Lao, China Alterado and Carleene Emnace); 1st Runner-up – Saint Jude Catholic School (Rissa Lim, Clare Chua, Stepanie Ng, Alexis Jasmin Chua, Summer Lim and Patricia Ko); and 2nd Runner-up – Philippine Cultural College (Ceana Cae Tan, Blaise Ann Gallardo, Hallie Jheska Hong and Yinyin Celes Zheng).
Eight schools participated in the table tennis competitions, including Makati Gospel Church-New Life Christian Academy.
