Jennylyn, Lotlot napaiyak… waging-wagi sa MMFF Awards Night
HUMAKOT ng award sa nakaraang 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival awards night ang “Bonifacio” ni Robin Padilla, “English Only Please” nina Derek Ramsay at Jennylyn Mercado at “Kubot” ni Dingdong Dantes.
Ginanap ang gabi ng parangal noong Sabado ng gabi sa PICC Plenary Hall na dinaluhan ng mga artistang kasali sa mga entry ngayon ng taunang filmfest. The event was hosted by Kris Aquino and Edu Manzano.
Nakapag-uwi ng siyam na tropeo ang Ang “Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo” kabilang na ang Best Picture, habang nakapitong award naman ang “English Only, Please” including Second Best Picture, Best Director, and best actor and best actress trophy para kina Derek at Jennylyn.
Marami nga ang nakakita na umiiyak si Jennylyn sa backstage pagkatanggap ng kanyang award. Anim naman ang napanalunang award ng horror-adventure-comedy film na “Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles” kabilang na ang Third Best Picture at Best Supporting Actor at Best Actress para kina Joey Marquez at Lotlot de Leon na napaluha rin nang tanggapin ang kanyang trophy.
Nag-dialogue naman si Kris during one of the segments na okay na sa kanya na ma-nominate si Bimby sa kategoryang Best Child Performer para sa movie nitong “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” na pinanalunan naman ni Ryzza Mae Dizon para sa “My Big Bossing”.
“Bilang stage mother happy na ako na na-nominate si Bimby… pati mga nominations ng Feng Shui… okay na,” ani Kris.
Narito ang ilan pang nagwagi sa MMFF 2014 awards night: Best Screenplay: Antoinette Jadaone (English Only, Please); Best Original Story: Antoinette Jadaone and Dan Villegas (English Only, Please); Best Editor: Marya Ignacio (English Only, Please); Best Cinematographer: Carlo Mendoza (Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo); Best Production Design: Erickson Navarro (Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2); Best Visual Effects: Mothership (Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2); Best Sound Engineer: Wild Sound (Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo).
Best Musical Score: Von de Guzman (Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo); Best Theme Song: Von de Guzman (Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo); Best Festival Make-up Artist: (Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2); Gat Puno Antonio Villegas Cultural Award: Bonifacio:
Ang Unang Pangulo; FPJ Memorial Award for Excellence: Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo; Commemorative Award for Vision and Leadership: Joseph Estrada; Commemorative Award for Vision and Leadership: MMFF and MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino; Guillermo de Vega Memorial Award (posthumous) – na tinanggap ng asawa nitong si Maria de Vega.
Celeb Face of the Night naman si Nadine Lustre; Best Float Award: Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo; at Youth Choice Award: Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo.
Palabas pa rin sa mga sinehan ang walong MMFF entries hanggang sa susunod na linggo na kinabibilangan nga ng “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin 2”, “Feng Shui 2”, “My Big Bossing” at “Kubot”, “English Only Please”, “Shake Rattle & Roll XV”, “Bonifacio” at “Muslim Magnum 357”.
Narito naman ang mga winner sa New Wave Category.
