7 Pinoy pool players pasok sa KO stage

NAKATIYAK na ang Pilipinas ng pitong manlalaro na aabante sa knockout stage ng 2014 WPA 9-ball  Championship sa Al Saad Sports Club, Doha, Qatar.

Ang pumangalawa noong nakaraang taon na si Antonio Gabica ay nanaig kay Michel Bartol ng Croatia sa Group 4 para umusad sa susunod na round.

Sina Dennis Orcullo, Raymund Faraon, Carlo Biado, Johann Chua, Jeff De Luna at Elmer Haya ay umabante rin nang kalusin ang mga nakalaban sa kani-kanilang grupo.

Wagi si Orcullo kay KoPing Chung ng Chinese Taipei, 9-6, sa Group 7; si Faraon ay nangibabaw kayi Young Hwa Jeong ng Korea, 9-7, sa Group 9; si Biado ay lumusot kay  Tom Storm  ng Sweden, 9-7, sa Group 8; si Chua ay  nagdomina kay Lo Li Wen ng Taipei, 9-6, sa Group 13; si De Luna ay  wagi sa kaba-bayang si Israel Rota, 9-3, sa Group 14; at si Haya ay sinuwerte kay Artem Koshovyi ng Ukraine, 9-8, sa Group 16.

Natalo naman sina Warren Kiamco at Elvis Calasang kina Niels Feijen ng Netherlands, 9-6, at Wu Jiaquing ng China, 9-7, sa Groups 6 at 10, para bumaba sa loser’s side.

Kailangan nilang manalo  sa one-loss bracket para maka-usad. Nasa one-loss side din sina Efren “Bata” Reyes, Lee Van Corteza at  Ramil Gallego.
