HIS time has truly come. Yes, Michael Pangilinan is truly the talk of the town amongst our young music geniuses. The former X Factor finalist has appeared in so many concerts all over the country with a self-titled album (under Star Records) that’s selling like hotcakes in music stores.
Nasa album din ang magagandang versions niya ng “Bakit Ba Ikaw?”, “Ang Saksi Ko”, “Dance With My Father”, at “Umagang Kayganda” (duet with Prima Diva Billy).
Michael always wows his live audience with his soothing R&B-yish voice and his good looks. “Guwapo talaga at lalong gumuguwapo when he performs onstage,” ang palagi naming naririnig tuwing siya ay kumakanta in many shows.
In fairness to him, all his shows are always jampacked. Tonight, June 21, at 9 p.m., Michael is set to break his own record in the concert scene as he mounts “Kung Sakali (The Concert)” sa Klownz Comedy Bar (Quezon Avenue, Q.C.) kasama ang kanyang very special guests na sina Richard Poon, Prima Diva Billy, Boobsie Wonderland, Hannah Nolasco and Ka Freddie Aguilar with Butch Miraflor as musical director.
Michael will surely surprise his great following as he does a medley of female songs – the likes of “It Takes Too Long”, “Where Is It I Belong”, among others. “Medyo stressed po ako sa show for tonight, ang dami ko kasing dapat i-memorize na songs.
Pero kahit medyo mahirap, kakayanin ko. Pag singer ka kasi, you have to be serious with this business.
Nandiyan din ang mga bagong songs like ‘Say Something’ and ‘All Of Me’.
A lot of his colleagues in the music industry have nice things to say about this Bagong Kilabot Ng Mga Kolehiyala, “May ibang hagod kasi ang boses ni Michael na kaniyang-kaniya lang.
Sarap niyang pakinggan. As a musician, excited akong makatrabaho siya. Siyempre, hindi pa naman siya kasinglaki ng pangalan nina Martin Nievera or Gary V pero may sarili siyang style na puwede niyang angkinin, he has his own identity,” pagmamalaki ni kaibigang Vehnee Saturno who produced Michael’s album along with Pangga Duncan Ramos.
“Bago ako nakipag-collaborate sa album ni Michael, ilang beses ko na siyang nakasama sa shows here and out of town. Iba ang timbre ng boses niya. Naka-relate ako sa style niya in a way dahil may pagka-R&B din.
“Parang kapatid ko na kasi iyang si Michael, we would do shows together minsan.
Totoy na totoy pag wala pa sa stage pero pagsampa niya, he creates his own magic with his crowd.
