SAN ANTONIO — Tinapos ng San Antonio Spurs ang kanilang dominanteng ratsada tungo sa pagsungkit ng ikalimang NBA championship kahapon matapos wakasan ang dalawang-taong paghahari ng Miami Heat sa pamamagitan ng 104-87 pagwawagi sa Game Five ng NBA Finals.

Isang taon matapos ang napakasakit na pitong-laro na pagkatalo na tangi nilang kabiguan sa anim na finals appearances, nagwagi ang Spurs ng apat na tambakang panalo para pigilan ang hangarin ng Heat na makuha ang ikatlong sunod na kampeonato.

“Hard to believe, isn’t it?” sabi ni Manu Ginobili. “We played at a really high level.”

“We remember what happened last year and how it felt in that locker room and we used it and built on it and got back here and it’s amazing,” sabi ni Tim Duncan. “It makes last year OK.”

Kumamada si LeBron James ng 17 puntos sa unang yugto para tulungan ang Heat na umarangkada agad. Nagtapos si James na may 31 puntos at 10 rebounds para sa Heat.

“They played exquisite basketball this series and in particular these last three games and they are the better team. There’s no other way to say it,” sabi ni Heat coach Erik Spoelstra.
