HIHIRIT ng ikalawang sunod na panalo ang Air21 at Barangay Ginebra kontra magkahiwalay na kalaban sa PLDT Home Telpad PBA Governors’ Cup mamayang hapon sa SM Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City.
Makakaduwelo ng Express ang Barako Bull sa ganap na alas-2:45 ng hapon samantalang makakatagpo ng Gin Kings ang Meralco sa ganap na alas-5 ng hapon.
Ang Air21, na nanggulat sa semifinals ng nakaraang Commissioner’s Cup, ay nagwagi kontra Rain or Shne, 103-96, noong Martes. Sa gabi ring iyon ay tinambakan ng Barangay Ginebra ang Globalport, 89-71.
Ang Barako Bull ay may 1-1 record. Matapos na maungusan ang Meralco, 96-91, ay nabigo ang Energy kontra sa defending champion San Mig Coffee, 76-66.

“Our mindset right now is we’d like to improve on our standing in the previous conference.

Laban sa Rain or Shine, ang Air21 ay nakakuha ng 25 puntos buhat sa import na si Dominique Sutton. Makakatulong ni Sutton sina Paul Asi Taulava, Joseph Yeo, Mark Cardona, Aldrech Ramos at Mark Borboran.
Ang Barako Bull ay sumasandig kay Eric Wise na sinusuportahan nina Willie Miller, Mick Pennisi, Dennis Miranda at rookies Carlo Lastimosa at Jeric Fortuna.
Ang Gin Kings, na ngayon ay hawak ni head coach Jeffrey Cariaso, ay pinamumunuan ni Zaccheus Mason na gumawa ng 21 puntos kontra Globalport.
Si Cariaso, na gumagamit ng triangle offense para sa Barangay Ginebra, ay sumasandig kina Gregory Slaughter, Japeth Aguilar, LA Tenorio, Chris Ellis at dating Most Valuable Player Mark Caguioa.
“I’m impressed with the way they run the triangle. It’s not easy to run, to get disciplined when you feel nothing is happening. But so far, I’m happy with the way my guys are performing,” ani Cariaso.
Si Meralco coach Paul Ryan Gregorio ay umaasang gaganda ang mga numero ng import na si Terrence Williams. Ang iba pa niyang sinasandigan ay sina Gary David, Jared Dillinger, Cliff Hodge at Reynell Hugnatan.
