LALONG magbabaga ang paghabol sa No. 2 spot at twice-to-beat advantage sa quarterfinal round sa pagkikita ng San Miguel Beer at San Mig Coffee sa PLDT Home TVolution PBA Commissioner’s Cup mamayang alas-6 ng gabi sa SM Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang Beermen ay may 5-2 record at nasa ikalawang puwesto sa likod ng Talk ‘N Text na nakakasiguro na sa pagiging No. 1 team at pagkakaroon ng twice-to-beat advantage sa susunod na yugto.

Ang Mixers, na naghahangad ng ikatlong sunod na titulo, ay may 4-2 kartada. Ang dalawang koponan ay galing sa magkataliwas na resulta sa kanilang huling laro.

Napatid ang three-game winning streak ng Beermen nang sila’y payukuin ng defending champion Alaska Milk, 89-78, sa kauna-unahang out-of-town game ng liga sa Alonte Sports Arena sa Biñan, Laguna noong Marso 29.

Sa kabilang dako, winakasan naman ng Mixers ang two-game losing skid nila nang tambakan nila ang Air21, 97-84, noong Miyerkules.

“We had a better sense of urgency, something we lacked in the last few games. We are in contention for the top two spots but we are going up against a team that has rested for two weeks,” ani San Mig Coffee coach Tim Cone.

Siguradong hinanapan nina San Miguel Beer coach Melchor Ravanes at active consultant Todd Purvis ng solusyon ang mga pagkukulang ng kanilang koponan kontra sa Aces.

Sa import matchup ay magtatapat sina James Mays ng Mixers at Kevin Jones ng Beermen. Si Mays ay susuportahan nina James Yap, Marc Pingris, Peter June Simon, Mark Barroca at Joe Devance.
