DAVAO CITY—Binatikos ni Mayor Rodrigo Duterte si Justice Secretary Leila De Lima sa kabagalan nito sa paghabol sa rice smuggler na si David Tan.
Giit ni Duterte, kung kinuha lamang ni De Lima ang testimonya ng mga negosyante na nakakikilala kay Tan bilang Davidson Bangayan ay maaari nang makasuhan ang umano’y smuggler.
“They have the same address, the same company names, they even have the same lawyers and yet, they’re not the same?” ani Duterte kahapon bilang reaksyon sa ginawang pagpapalaya ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) kay Bangayan noong isang linggo makaraang mabigo ang ahensya na iugnay si Tan kay Bangayan.
“Stop talking, and start working,” ani Duterte kay De Lima. “What has the DOJ done so far to protect the interest of the national government?”
“The government is losing P1.3 trillion in three years because of smuggling at wala kayong ginawa, mahiya naman kayo,” dagdag ni Duterte.
“You failed to build a case because all you wanted was publicity,” giit pa ni Duterte. “Why, you just opened your mouth for publicity, I’m telling you to stop talking and start working, you walk your talk and talk your walk.”
