GMA, Vilma, 420 iba pa pinabababa sa puwesto

PINABABA sa puwesto ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang 422 halal na opisyal, kabilang ang dating pangulo at ngayon ay Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Muntinlupa Rep. Rodolfo Biazon, Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto at Laguna Gov. ER Ejercito dahil sa hindi umano pagsusumite ng listahan ng kanilang natanggap na kontribusyon at ginastos noong nakaraang halalan.

Sa isang pulong-balitaan kahapon ay sinabi ni Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes na ang mga nasabing opisyal, 169 ay mula sa Liberal Party at 44  mula sa National Union Party (NUP) na kaalyado rin ng LP, ay hindi dapat manatili sa kanilang puwesto hangga’t hindi nila naisusumite ang kanilang  Statement of Election Contributions and Expenditure (SOCE).

Sumulat na rin ang Comelec kina Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. at Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II upang utusan ang 20 mambabatas at mahigit 400 lokal na opisyal na bumaba muna sa puwesto.

Maliban sa mga kandidatong mula sa LP at NUP,  kabilang din sa pinabababa sa puwesto ang 39 mula sa Nacionalista Party (NP), 33 independent, 31 mula sa Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), 29 mula sa United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) at 17 mula sa Lakas-CMD.

Samantala, giniit ni Santos-Recto na nakapagsumite siya ng SOCE sa Comelec. Sa interview sa TV, sinabi ng gobernadora na bahala na ang kanyang abogado sa kaso.

“We did comply. If we have deficiencies and corrections, we need the letter from Comelec stating the corrections. If there are problems, we are willing to correct it,” aniya.

Kinumpirma ito ng asawa niyang si Senate  Pro Tempore Ralph  Recto. “Governor Vi filed on June 6, earlier than the deadline, using the Comelec prescribed form.  We followed all laws, rules and regulations,” ani Recto.

“We have a certificate of compliance dated June 6 from Comelec Batangas that we complied,” dagdag niya. Idinagdag niya na maging ang Comelec officer of Batangas ay nagulat sa utos ng Comelec.

“We reviewed just now all the documents we filed and we do not see any mistakes,”  dagdag ng senador. “If there are any mistakes, the Comelec should have informed us so that we can rectify any error. If there’s any.”
