Miss Dominican Republic Celinee Santos Frias at Miss Panama Italy Mora
UMATRAS na sa gaganaping Miss Universe 2024 pageant ngayong November ang kandidata ng bansang Panama na si Italy Mora.
Ito ang kinumpirma ng Miss Universe Organization (MUO) sa pamamagitan ng social media at ng kanilang website nitong nagdaang November 1, All Saints’ Day.
Ayon sa official statement, ang pag-atras ni Miss Panama ay bunsod na rin ng naging desisyon umano ng disciplinary commission ng MUO.
Base sa isinagawang investigation ng Miss Universe Organization, ang tanging naresolba lamang sa isyu ay ang hindi pagtuloy ng bet ng Panama sa beauty pageant. Narito ang kabuuan ng inilabas na pahayag ng MUO.

“This decision has been taken after a thorough evaluation by our disciplinary commission.
“The disciplinary committee, charged with maintaining the integrity and values of the pageant, conducted a full audit of the matter and, based on the information gathered and reviewed, has concluded that withdrawal is the most appropriate course of action under the current circumstances.
“It is important to note that we made this decision with the utmost respect for all parties involved.
“Our number one priority remains the welfare and transparency for all of our candidates, who exemplify diversity, talent and dedication.
“The Miss Universe organization wishes to stress the importance of maintaining confidentiality and respect during this process. Over the years, our pageant has been a beacon of diversity, inclusion and empowerment for women around the world.
“In this regard, adhering to strong ethical principles, such as confidentiality and respect, is essential to maintaining the integrity of our organization and the well-being of our participants.
“Confidentiality is a fundamental pillar of any disciplinary process. By protecting sensitive and personal information, we not only ensure fairness and equity in our decisions, but also the dignity of all involved.
“As we move forward, we reaffirm our dedication to these principles, inviting all our participants, supporters and media to join us in this commitment.
“We kindly ask everyone to respect the privacy of our Panama candidate during this time and to avoid unnecessary speculation that may negatively affect all parties involved.

Wala namang binanggit sa statement kung ano ang tunay na rason ng pag-atras ni Miss Panama sa pageant. Pero base sa mga nabasa naming komento ng netizens, ang ugat daw ng isyu ay ang umano’y alitan ni Miss Panama at Miss Dominican Republic na si Celinee Santos Frias.
Base sa Facebook page na Pageant Aficionado, nagkaroon daw ng hindi pagkakaunawaan ang dalawang kandidata na balitang magka-roommate pa ngayon.
Sabi sa naturang FB page, “CONTEXT: PANAMA and DOMINICAN REPUBLIC are roommates, apparently DOMREP really has bad attitude and superiority complex especially over amongst the Latinas, thus if you notice no other Latina girls are mingling with her.
“They had a fight and Panama just couldn’t handle DOMREP’s toxicity and she hit DOMREP. DOMREP hit her back but because PANAMA made the first contact, she was labeled the aggressor.
“PANAMA left the hotel with her NATIONAL DIRECTOR, not because of some romantic or sexual context but because they couldn’t handle DOMREP’s treatment of PANAMA.
“It’s for their safety and peace of mind. MISS UNIVERSE ORG surprisingly use this technicality as a reason to disqualify her. Apparently nobody approves them to leave and transfer hotel, but ND said they have no choice during that time given the urgency of the matter.
“There are ‘big bosses’ that are rooting for DOMREP to win but there are still few influential members of the organization who had known even before the attitude of this queen. #MissUniverse2024,” ayon sa naturang FB page.
Sabi naman sa Philippine Pageants page, tsinugi umano si Mora sa pageant dahil may mga nilabag ito sa rules and regulations ng MUO. Una na raw dito ang paglabas ng kandidata sa hotel nang walang paalam.
May isang netizen naman ang nagkomento na may attitude daw si Miss Dominican Republic.
Samantala, nag-issue rin si Miss Universe Panama National Director Cesar Anel Rodriguez sa salitang Spanish. Narito ang translation na nabasa namin sa isang Facebook page.
“Italy Mora is a very young woman she committed an error that Miss Universe organization cannot permit and the decision was made by the org to withdraw her from the competition this morning.
“About the error that was committed I don’t want to disclose since we had an agreement to protect the candidate that we have still our respect for her and will continue as Miss Universe Panama 2024.
“She is not gonna be dethroned and will continue her reign together with the organization. Unfortunately she cannot continue in Miss Universe but just to remind everyone that we commit errors and it was done by her and what is done is done. I don’t want to get into details.
“I know it’s difficult time but I sincerely ask for everyone to respect her please don’t judge her, please don’t attack her coz what she’s going through is not easy. She will have a bright future ahead as she is young and brilliant.”
Magaganap ang grand coronation ng Miss Universe 2024 sa November 16 sa Mexico kung saan lalaban ang representative ng Pilipinas na si Chelsea Manalo.
