Ariel Pineda at Tony Harnell
TO the rescue ang isang member ng international band na Journey sa bokalista nilang si Arnel Pineda matapos manega sa kanyang performance recently.
Marami ang nam-bash at nang-okray sa Filipino singer nang mag-perform sa Rock in Rio Music Festival na ginanap sa Rio de Janeiro, Brazil last September 21.
Kinanta ng Journey ang sikat nilang awitin sa naturang music event, ang 1981 hit na “Don’t Stop Believing,” sa pangunguna nga ng kanilang Pinoy lead vocalist na si Arnel.
Sa kumalat na video sa social media, mapapanood si Arnel na tila hirap na sa pag-abot sa matataas na nota ng kanta kaya naman disappointed ang ilan nilang supporters.
May mga nanlait kay Arnel pero may mga nagtanggol din sa kanya. Pero mukhang affected talaga ang singer sa mga natanggap na bashing kaya nag-post siya sa social media at nag-sorry sa fans.
Ito ang post ni Arnel sa kanyang Facebook page, “Once again,thank u so much everyone who came to @journeyofficial show since #february this year.
“I appreciate you all so much..and not only that, everytime that im on stage w/ the band, i feel this immense gratitude,humility and honor. i am very aware of this…” na sinundan ng video link ng kanyang viral performance.
Dugtong niya, “No one more than me in this world feels so devastated about this…its really amazing how 1 thousand right things you have done will be forgotten just cause of THIS..and of all the place, its in Rock In Rio…
“Mentally and emotionally, ive suffered already, and im still sufferring but i’ll be ok.
“So here’s the deal here now..i am offering you a chance now (especially those who’s hated me and never liked me from the very beginning) to simply text GO or STAY right here.
“And if GO reaches 1million…im stepping out for good..are you game folks? let’s start…
“God bless all of you and thank you once again to all of the fans and friends who believed in me dince Day 1.”
Sa gitna ng isyung ito, ipinagtanggol naman siya ng kanyang mga kaibigan at mga loyal fans. Isa na nga sa dumepensa para sa kanya ay ang kabanda niyang si Jonathan.
Nag-post sa Instagram ang Journey member ng litrato nila ni Arnel na may caption na, “Arnel @arnelpineda2007, 16 years and STRONG! You’re not going anywhere! Love you and grateful for you.”
Nagpahatid din ng suporta kay Arnel si Tony Harnell, isa sa mga miyembro ng Norwegian hard rock band na TNT. Nag-post ito ng kanyang comment sa mismong Facebook account ng nag-upload ng performance ni Arnel.
Aniya, “First of all, shame on ‘behind the songs” for this negative post.’ He’s a professional singer for over 4 decades I can attest that every singer that performs regularly or tours has bad nights.
“I don’t see the point of this post other than to incite negativity toward Arnel. The guy has done a great job.
“I’d like to challenge anyone out there to have a perfect night every night doing Steve Perry songs. Let the guy do his thing!” sabi pa ni Tony na ang tinutukoy na Steve Perry ay ang dating vocalist ng Journey na pinalitan ni Arnel.
