“Siguro if I turned it down, it would become the biggest regret of my life after what happened to Tito Deo.

“But you know, taking on this character, responsibilidad ng isang artista na sa tingin nila hindi pa napanood ng tao, and when this was offered it wasn’t about being a bad guy.

“Baka ma-paint ng ibang picture sa tao, but it’s all about redemption,” ang paliwanag ni Piolo sa mediacon ng “Pamilya Sagrado” last June 8 sa Gateway 2 Cinema sa Quezon City.
“It’s not all bad naman throughout. So yung journey niya na nagsimula dito, but of course through the course of time makikita mo yung pagbabago, not just in being a politician but also a father.
Patuloy pa niya, “It’s such a big cast and just to be part of cast… I was there looking at everyone. So nice to be part of something so big, something so grand, and meaningful, nakaka-humble.”
Makakasama ni Piolo sa serye sina Tirso Cruz III, John Arcilla, Mylene Dizon, Aiko Melendez, Rosanna Roces, Grae Fernandez, Kyle Echarri at marami pang iba.

“Playing the role of a corrupt politician is something I haven’t done before. It’s like walking on eggshells because ayaw mong masabihan na may pinapatamaan ka, because at the end of the day, this show is fictional.
“So we’re trying to be careful at the same time. We really wanna mirror society as if its happening nowadays so yun lang naman sa akin. I’m just an artist, I’m a talent and I want to personify a certain character,” chika pa ni Papa P.

“They will discover that he starts out bad, but through the course of time he goes through certain situations where he will face is own demons, where he will choose right or wrong.
“We are halfway through with the shooting, so marami pa siyang pupuntahan. I really brought him to the darkest sides para yung redemption niya mas malaki yung paglagpak niya bilang tao. I really wanna make him as human as possible and I’m sure marami makaka-identify sa kanya,” aniya pa.
Nag-enjoy din daw si Piolo working with his younger co-stars na sina Kyle at Grae, “It was already shown in the story that Grae is my son while Kyle is the one I helped to become part of the fraternity through my son.
“I used him as a pawn as well for something big that will be exposed. Ma-ta-tackle yun midway ng show.
“It was really nice working with these guys. What they bring to the table, mai-insipire ka. Hindi sila basta nakikinig sa direktor or acting coach. They bring something else na galing sa kanila mismo.
“As my character is progressing, sila din mismo they do their homework by suggesting and talking it with our directors. They also have something to contribute,” sey ni Papa P.
