Maricar Reyes at Richard Poon
“Your college course will not define your career,” ang post ni Maricar sa kanyang Facebook page noong May 16.
Nope. Just this morning I checked on & managed my team member who was not feeling well for the last few days,” ang pahayag ni Maricar.
Paalala pa ni Maricar sa madlang pipol, “Don’t let your degree limit what you can do with your life.”
“Your grades in school will not determine your success in life (Binagsak ko Neuro nung med school noh) It’s how you BOUNCE BACK from the failure…,” paalala ni Maricar.
“Sa mga bumagsak at wasak dyan, it’s not the end of the world!!! It’s just the tough beginning of your success story!!!” ang sabi pa ng aktres.
Dapat may kontrabida at malaking problema. How the lead character OVERCOMES CONFLICT, makes it interesting.”
“Correct. And don’t let your career define who you are.”
“True. Never naging sayang. As a stay at home mom, I applied everything I learned from my profession. Yung flexibility, multi-tasking, and everything in between. I enjoy and love what I do and it makes me happy looking after them, witnessed their milestones and proud raising my two sons.”
“Hindi sayang… it’s steps to success!”
Reaksyon naman ng isang nanay, “Maricar Reyes-Poon, I see your good intentions, but I suggest kindly choose your words wisely as you are privileged enough to have a platform knowing your huge number of followers, let’s not confuse the kiddos na ok lang bumagsak without doing ur best . binagsak in tagalog connotes intentional. As a mom who is teaching my kids to do good in school since that’s their responsibility as a student.. I am concerned by ur post.. especially I am a scholar from a marginalized sector.. and in my experience.. if i didn’t work hard to get high grades, I cant get academic scholarship and so I must say I was able to get thru poverty (succeed in landing stable job) because of high grades.”
Im encouraging people TO GET BACK UP when they do.
“This post was inspired by a teacher we spoke to recently who told us about the increasing number of self harm in students who get failing grades.
“Parang end of the world na pag bumagsak. This post will hopefully remind them that its NOT the end of the world,” paliwanag ng aktres.
