NAPASABAK sa action scenes si Dimples Romana sa “The Iron Heart” but she did not complain.
“As soon as I was told we have to do action scenes, I did try to go into tennis para lang ma-improve ang coordination ko. I also tried Muay Thai and ngayon I do Pilates,” say ni Dimples sa amin when we did a set visit sa location nila sa Cebu.
Of course, nag-consult din siya sa kanyang doctor at medyo “napalo” daw siya when she agreed to do some action scenes in the series na pinagbibidahan ni Richard Gutierrez.
“Sabi ko, ‘Doc, I feel stronger,”” say niya.
Scared si Dimples sa kanyang first fight scene dahil it made her do the scene habang naka-high heels.
Bakit nga ba tinanggap ni Dimples Romana ang role sa ‘Iron Heart’?
“First fight scene ko, sobrang takot ko kasi nanggaling kami doon sa ibang eksena. Hindi ko na-realize na naka-heels pala ako.
“Since it’s continuity, ang taas ng heels ko, siguro mga four inches. Naka-boots ako. Buti na lang above the ankle siya. Somehow medyo safe siya,” say niya.
Nagpasalamat siya sa kanyang directors na sina Lester Pimentel Ong and Richard Ibasco Arellano for taking care of her during the action scene.
“They’re so good and they take everything into consideration. Medyo nahirapan ako nang slight pero alam mo naman tayong mga kababaihan, laban tayo, ‘di ba?
“So, ‘ah, gusto mo pala action scenes. Hindi tayo para (magreklamo). When we were taking the scene, it was very difficult,” say niya.
When she showed na merong more than 800,000 views ito sa Facebook at thousands of comments ay feeling elated ang actress.
“Ah, gusto pala nila ‘yun. Natuwa pala sila doon. Lalo akong na-inspire,” say niya.

“Nice din po na nanganak ako. Somehow, it was a new leaf for me. As an actor kasi, when you go big milestones in your life, it refreshes you.

“It gives you different perspective so because Elio changed me as a woman, I don’t think I have to unlearn anything. In fact, I had to learn more.
“Parang mas kinailangan ko pang magdagdag because the emotions were there but I need the education. I needed the challenges and Iron Heart perfectly gave it to me na okay, you need the challenge, we have the challenge.
“You need to know more, we can teach you more. Kasi basically, iyon ang itinuturo nila sa amin, eh,” say niya.
“As actors, ‘yung face mo talaga ang aalagaan mo bukod sa movement mo, ‘yung facial expression din kasi ‘you really own the movements,” dagdag pa ng actress.
Hindi pa ma-figure out ni Dimples kung kontrabida siya sa teleserye, “Pansinin mo, si Selene ang isa sa mga character na hindi mo alam kung kakampi siya o hindi. That really excited me. In fact, even if you ask me now I’m wouldn’t be able to tell you what it is exactly,” she added.
