Ayon kay Maxene, hindi raw siya sumailalim sa medications nang magkaroob siya ng C-PTSD na ayon sa isang health website ay, “a condition where you experience some symptoms of PTSD along with some additional symptoms, such as difficulty controlling your emotions, feeling very angry or distrustful towards the world, and constant feelings of emptiness or hopelessness.”

Sabi ni Maxene sa caption ng kanyang IG photo, “One of my meditation teachers told me, ‘Consistency is key,’ and that really stuck with me which is why I never stopped meditating.

“My psychiatrist also advised me that if I want to naturally heal my mental health condition without the use of medications, I needed to adopt a non-negotiable morning routine.

“That was when I started waking up at 4AM every day to be able to meditate, pray, practice yoga, and go for a run first thing in the morning,” aniya pa.

Napakalaking factor din daw ang disiplina sa sarili, “This discipline was what really helped me rewire my brain and reprogram the way I think through neuroplasticity which is the ability of the brain to form and reorganize synaptic connections.

“Through this process, we are literally working with our nervous system to change its response to stimuli by reorganizing its structure, functions, or connections after injuries such as trauma,” aniya pa.

Samantala, tungkol naman sa pag-handle sa trauma, aniya “slowing down” is the key.

“When we get traumatized, our nervous system becomes dysregulated which often causes us to respond in an inappropriate way to an event, person, or situation, either by under-reacting or overreacting.

“This is usually caused by unresolved and unfinished stress responses from the past. Meditation is one of the tools that humans can use to self-heal.

“Through deep breathing, we get to regulate our nervous system and bring it into balance. Slowing down the breath sends a signal to our nervous system that everything is okay,” paliwanag ng aktres.

Payo pa ni Maxene, “So if you wish to attain inner peace, you have to consistently work on aligning yourself. Self-work is one of the most essential tools that we need to equip ourselves with in this world.

“If you consistently and wholeheartedly work on becoming a better human everyday, you will reach your highest self and consciously contribute nothing but good energy to the Universe.

“If you want love, peace and harmony, you have to work on yourself so you can naturally embody these energies. You are your biggest investment.
