“We’re very entertaining people and we’re very loving. And we love that. We love to be able to meet new people where for example, they’re the new person at work, we’d love to, like, bring food and socialize and entertain, and I love that,” pahayag ng Filipino-American stand-up comedian.

“Our love for entertainment shows (parehong katangian). When you go to the Philippines, you just see how talented Filipinos are. It’s pretty amazing. You know, I make jokes about it, but it’s very true.

“You can go to any Filipino party and you’ll get at least six singers out of that family. Good singers too, not just pretty good, like really, really good. And very funny. We love to be funny. So you know, I get all that from them,” pahayag pa ni Jo Koy.

At tungkol naman sa madalas na pagbanggit niya sa pagiging Pinoy on stage, sinabi ni Jo Koy sa isa pang hiwalay na panayam na, “People these days like to ask me why I talk about being Filipino so much onstage. After all, I’m a half-breed, just as white as I am Filipino.

“And I’m not ashamed of the Caucasian side of my identity. In a lot of ways, it’s shaped me just as much as the Filipino side,” aniya pa.

“But when sh*t got real for my mom and our family, when we had nowhere to turn and desperately needed help, the Filipinos took us in, no questions asked. They never looked at me and said, ‘Hey, where’s your dad’s family? Why don’t you go hang out with them and eat their food?’

“They accepted me, both of my halves, for exactly who I was. They accepted our whole family, my brother with his outbursts. My adopted sister. All of us. I was home. I still have that glove to this day,” sabi pa ng komedyante.
