ISANG “rare cancer” ang dumapo sa yumaong veteran at award-winning actress na si Cherie Gil na siyang dahilan ng kanyang pagpanaw.
Ito ang kinumpirma ng pamilya ng magaling na kontrabida sa pelikula at teleserye sa pamamagitan ng inilabas nilang official statement ngayong araw hinggil sa pamamaalam ng kanilang mahal sa buhay.
Sa Instagram Stories ng pamangkin ni Cherie na si Andi Eigenmann namin nabasa ang opisyal na pahayag at dito nga nakasaad na na-diagnose ang premyadong aktres ng “rare form of endometrial cancer.”
“Our family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all those who expressed their concern for Cherie during this difficult time.
“It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce that Cherie passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 5th, at 4:48 a.m. EST after a brave battle against cancer.
“Cherie was diagnosed with a rare form of endometrial cancer in October of last year after deciding to relocate to New York City to be closer to her children. She then underwent treatment at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York,” ang simulang bahagi ng IG post ni Andi.
Patuloy pa niya, “It was her request that her diagnosis be kept private, and as a family we supported her in this decision. Cherie fought bravely against her illness, with grace and strength.
“Despite her struggles she always managed to exude courage and never lost her trademark sass, wit, and infectious humor, or her larger-than-life personality. She spent her last days surrounded by family and loved ones,” mensahe pa ng pamilya ni Cherie.

Sobrang nagpapasalamat din daw ang pamilya sa lahat ng nagpahayag ng pagmamahal kay Cherie at sa lahat ng nakikiramay sa kanila, kabilang na ang mga nakatrabaho ng aktres sa mga nagawa niyang pelikula at soap opera.
“While we are deeply saddened by our loss and still mourning her passing, we are incredibly moved by the outpouring of love and support for her and our family; evidence of just how many lives Cherie touched.
“If you have any photos, videos, memories, messages or regards, please send them to [email protected] so we can view them in our own time privately in the spirit of her original wishes, while also celebrating her life, work and legacy.
“In the end, there are no words – only love. Cherie lived with all her heart.
